something new

Happy New Year! The Jewish community around the world recently celebrated Rosh Hashanah, which literally translates, Head of the Year. Although I am not ethnically Jewish, I find the customs and traditions quite interesting. I like the idea of eating apples and honey for a sweet new year. According to the Hebraic calendar, it is now the year 5778. The number 8 in the Bible symbolizes new beginnings. Today I am doing something new; writing my first blog post.
I was going to introduce myself in my very first blog but I would be remiss if I didn't first introduce you to the One who makes it ALL possible. My Lord and Savior Jesus Christ was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, died on a cross, and shed His Blood for the sins of the entire world. Messianic Jews call Him the Messiah and Christians call him Savior. God knew we would need a Savior, and He sent His Son to sacrifice His life so that ALL of humankind could go free.
Do you know Him? Do you know Jesus? Would you like to be saved from your sin and have eternal life? Pray this simple prayer aloud:

Dear GOD, I believe Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He died for my sins. On the third day He was raised from the dead. Jesus, come into my heart. I repent of my sins and I renounce Satan and all of his works. From now on I belong to You. Please fill me with Your Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in new tongues, my Heavenly language. I thank You and I praise You for it now, Lord. It's in Jesus' Name I pray. Amen.

Welcome to the family of God! Welcome to your NEW life in Christ! Take the next steps. Find and attend a good Bible-believing church, be baptized, and fellowship with other believers so you can grow stronger in your new faith. Also, begin to read your Bible. A good place to start is the Gospel of John, a book in the New Testament of the Bible.

I'm praying for you as you begin your new life and your new journey!

Romans 10: 9, 13 (NIV) - If you declare with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. v.13 for, "Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved."
